Registration Procedure for a MakahikiDear Servant of Jesus Christ, Makahiki Ministries, Inc. was established to provide places of rest and restoration for clergy, Missionaries and Christian workers families who are involved in full-time ministry for Jesus Christ. “Makahiki” is a Hawaiian word meaning “new beginnings,” a time of rest for the battle-fatigued. Our Hospitality Homes provide a place of physical rest and spiritual renewal on a short-term basis. A typical visit in a Hospitality Home is 2 to 7 days. We cannot accommodate long-term placements at present, but we may arrange for you to stay in more than 1 home if your wish. Makahiki Ministries is funded by those who use the Hospitality Homes. The donations are based on your length of stay in each home:
Up to 3 nights $55.00 Donations are made directly to Makahiki Ministries. The hospitality home hosts do not receive donations. They open their homes, as their ministry to the Lord, for rest and relaxation for other Christian workers. As part of the reservation procedure, we require the following: 1. A signed Reference Form. This form should be completed by your Pastor, Ministry Director/Supervisor or by a Makahiki affiliate. For clergy, we suggest that you ask the Chairman of your church board to act as a reference. Because this form needs a signature, you may mail or Fax your reference form to the address below. 2. A letter on your organization letterhead. The letter should briefly explain your involvement in Christian ministry and what you hope to gain from your stay in a Hospitality Home. Because this form needs a signature, you may mail or Fax your letter to the below address. Please click here for a list of our hospitality home locations. After you complete your forms and are ready to make a reservation for one of our Hospitality Homes, please fill out our online reservation request. May God Bless your ministry, your family and your church body. In His Name, Billie Hair
